The feel and size remind me a bit of those old little polybags. Maybe it\u2019s just a matter of personal preference in the end, but to me, it somehow seems a little more high-quality because of it.  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Where did this purple Batman come from, anyway?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When we open the paper bag, a truly eye-catching Batman figure in <strong>purple, magenta, and light blue<\/strong> comes into view. And, of course, the color scheme isn&#8217;t a coincidence. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The figure is based on <strong>*Batman: The Video Game*<\/strong> by Sunsoft, which was released in 1989 for the Nintendo Entertainment System\u2014and initially in Japan for the Famicom\u2014and is based on Tim Burton\u2019s <em>*Batman*<\/em> from the same year. In that game, Batman was depicted in a striking purple-and-blue 8-bit color scheme. LEGO has recreated exactly this pixelated look here.    <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>The Minifigure in Detail<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And I think the character is really well done.  <br\/>The entire body is printed in a pixel art style. The cape is actually a new color variation. When you remove it, the pixelated design continues on the back of the torso. <br\/>Underneath the mask is a <strong>medium-blue head printed on both sides<\/strong>. One facial expression is slightly more relaxed, while the other is correspondingly more grim.     <br\/>All in all, a really beautiful and, above all, extraordinary Batman variant.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Originally exclusive to the Nintendo Switch 2 Deluxe Edition<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And that brings us to the reason why this whole thing is currently causing a bit of a stir. <br\/>Warner Bros. Games had originally <strong>announced<\/strong>the physical LEGO Retro Video Game Batman Minifigure as a bonus for buyers of the <strong>physical Nintendo Switch 2 Deluxe Edition of LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight<\/strong>\u2014while supplies last. The Switch 2 version will be released on <strong>September 18, 2026<\/strong>.   <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For Minifigure collectors in particular, an exclusive figure like this is, of course, a great reason to pre-order this specific version of the game. <br\/>At <strong>Gamescom 2026<\/strong>, visitors to the LEGO Batman booth were able to try out the new <strong>Mayhem Mode<\/strong>. <br\/>Anyone who played the demo got to take home the <strong>30762 Retro Video Game Batman<\/strong> for free.  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And apparently, they didn&#8217;t just give out ten copies. <br\/>As a result, numerous copies appeared on the secondary market right during Gamescom. <br\/>Especially at the beginning, you could sometimes find really good prices. <br\/>I myself got my copy, along with three Gamescom stickers, for a total of <strong>12 euros including shipping<\/strong> through classified ads. <br\/>I really can\u2019t complain about that.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Why Some Buyers Find This Annoying<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At the same time, though, I can also understand why some people aren&#8217;t exactly happy about it.  <br\/>Anyone who pre-orders a Deluxe Edition costing around 90 euros\u2014in part because of a Minifigure advertised as exclusive\u2014is, of course, not exactly thrilled when that very same Minifigure is given away for free in large quantities at a trade show before the game is even released.  <br\/>But this isn&#8217;t entirely new when it comes to LEGO and video games.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A well-known example is the <strong>30625 Luke Skywalker with blue milk<\/strong>. The figure was originally part of the Deluxe Edition of <strong>LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga<\/strong> and was also distributed outside of the Deluxe Edition. <\/p>\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-large is-resized\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.brick-tracker.de\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/IMG_1719.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"877\" height=\"1024\" src=\"https:\/\/www.brick-tracker.de\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/IMG_1719-877x1024.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-4895\" style=\"aspect-ratio:0.8564580559254328;width:552px;height:auto\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.brick-tracker.de\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/IMG_1719-877x1024.png 877w, https:\/\/www.brick-tracker.de\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/IMG_1719-257x300.png 257w, https:\/\/www.brick-tracker.de\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/IMG_1719-768x896.png 768w, https:\/\/www.brick-tracker.de\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/IMG_1719.png 1028w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 877px) 100vw, 877px\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">So these exclusive figures won&#8217;t necessarily remain as hard to get as they might seem when they&#8217;re first announced.  <br\/>And that&#8217;s exactly what I think we should keep in mind when it comes to the retro Batman.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On top of that, the nice seller even sent me <strong>three stickers from Gamescom<\/strong>. <br\/>All three were handed out there as freebies. <br\/>As far as I know, the Pok\u00e9mon stickers were also available in a similar form during promotions at LEGO Stores. <br\/>I think the <strong>LEGO Fortnite stickers<\/strong> are pretty cool, too. I already have various LEGO Fortnite stickers from previous years, and I\u2019m always happy when I get another one. <br\/>But my personal favorite is actually the <strong>LEGO Skylines sticker with the crane<\/strong>. <br\/>The crane is currently a major part of the look and presentation of the new game, and this particular sticker even feels a little different from the regular ones in terms of its coating and texture. <br\/>As a LEGO collector, I sometimes get almost as excited about little things like this as I do about certain sets. <br\/>They\u2019re just nice mementos of events like this. <\/p>\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-8f761849 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-vertically-aligned-center is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\"><div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-large is-resized\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.brick-tracker.de\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/IMG_5282-scaled.jpeg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"1014\" src=\"https:\/\/www.brick-tracker.de\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/IMG_5282-1024x1014.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-4896\" style=\"aspect-ratio:1.009871842678547;width:507px;height:auto\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.brick-tracker.de\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/IMG_5282-1024x1014.jpeg 1024w, https:\/\/www.brick-tracker.de\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/IMG_5282-300x297.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/www.brick-tracker.de\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/IMG_5282-150x150.jpeg 150w, https:\/\/www.brick-tracker.de\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/IMG_5282-768x761.jpeg 768w, https:\/\/www.brick-tracker.de\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/IMG_5282-1536x1521.jpeg 1536w, https:\/\/www.brick-tracker.de\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/IMG_5282-2048x2028.jpeg 2048w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>My Conclusion<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Personally, I think the <strong>Retro Video Game Batman is really well done<\/strong>. <br\/>The figure is something special; it looks completely different from the usual Batman Minifigures, and\u2014especially for Batman collectors\u2014its purple-and-blue pixelated design adds a really nice touch of variety to the Collection.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Personally, though, I would have preferred a fabric cape.  <br\/>I kind of miss the old Batman minifigures with their classic fabric capes. The solid plastic cape is well-designed, but I&#8217;m just more of a fan of the old version.   <br\/>I&#8217;m also surprisingly fond of the paper bag itself. The smaller size and the way it feels in my hands somehow make the whole thing seem a bit more high-quality to me.   <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Now that Gamescom is over, the prices have gone up from an initial 10\u201320 \u20ac to 40\u201360 \u20ac. <br\/>Would I buy the figure right now for <strong>40 or even 60 euros<\/strong>?<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>No.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">After all, it\u2019s really just a single Minifigure. <br\/>However, if you find one somewhere for <strong>10 to 20 euros<\/strong> and you really like the figure, I think it\u2019s worth considering.
