{"id":5132,"date":"2026-09-27T06:00:00","date_gmt":"2026-09-27T06:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.brick-tracker.de\/blog\/unkategorisiert\/lego-star-wars-ucs-75442-n-1-starfighter-naboo-version-review\/"},"modified":"2026-09-27T06:00:42","modified_gmt":"2026-09-27T06:00:42","slug":"lego-star-wars-ucs-75442-n-1-starfighter-naboo-version-review","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.brick-tracker.de\/blog\/en\/brixpando\/lego-star-wars-ucs-75442-n-1-starfighter-naboo-version-review\/","title":{"rendered":"LEGO Star Wars UCS 75442 N-1 Starfighter (Naboo Version) Review"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"brick-4046814269\" class=\"brick-neuead brick-entity-placement\"><script async src=\"https:\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js?client=ca-pub-4356920618994666\"\r\n     crossorigin=\"anonymous\"><\/script>\r\n<!-- Header-Ad -->\r\n<ins class=\"adsbygoogle\"\r\n     style=\"display:block\"\r\n     data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-4356920618994666\"\r\n     data-ad-slot=\"5481181130\"\r\n     data-ad-format=\"auto\"\r\n     data-full-width-responsive=\"true\"><\/ins>\r\n<script>\r\n     (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});\r\n<\/script><\/div>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Hi there!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Today we&#8217;re taking a look at something really special in this review: the <strong>LEGO Star Wars UCS Mandalorian N-1 Starfighter 75442\u2014<\/strong>though not exactly as LEGO originally released it. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">That&#8217;s because our good friend Patrick\u2014better known as <strong>Brix just4me<\/strong>\u2014has completely rebuilt the model for his former online shop, <strong>Brixpando<\/strong>, and transformed Mando&#8217;s battered N-1 back into the classic yellow <strong>Naboo N-1 starfighter from *Star Wars: Episodes I and II<\/strong> *.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And I can tell you right now: The result looks absolutely awesome.  <br\/>Let&#8217;s take a closer look at this.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Let&#8217;s get started!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Mando&#8217;s N-1 becomes a Naboo Starfighter again<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The first thing that immediately stands out, of course, is the completely revamped color scheme. <br\/>In LEGO\u2019s official UCS model, much of the spaceship consists of various shades of gray and silver, matching Mando\u2019s modified and rather battered version from <em>*The Book of Boba Fett*<\/em> and <em>*The Mandalorian<\/em>*.<\/p>\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-large is-resized\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.brick-tracker.de\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/IMG_5624-scaled.jpeg\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\" src=\"https:\/\/www.brick-tracker.de\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/IMG_5624-1024x768.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-5105\" style=\"width:609px;height:auto\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.brick-tracker.de\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/IMG_5624-1024x768.jpeg 1024w, https:\/\/www.brick-tracker.de\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/IMG_5624-300x225.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/www.brick-tracker.de\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/IMG_5624-768x576.jpeg 768w, https:\/\/www.brick-tracker.de\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/IMG_5624-1536x1152.jpeg 1536w, https:\/\/www.brick-tracker.de\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/IMG_5624-2048x1536.jpeg 2048w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Here, things look completely different. <br\/>A large portion of these gray elements has been replaced with <strong>yellow<\/strong>, restoring the classic look of the Naboo N-1 Starfighter\u2014the one that so many Star Wars fans probably grew up with.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Brixpando itself states that <strong>just under 800 bricks<\/strong>are needed for the conversion. This isn\u2019t just a matter of painting a few gray pieces yellow: the gaps in the used Mando starfighter are filled in, the rear section is redesigned, the external hyperdrive on the underside is removed, and the two engines are completely rebuilt.   <br\/>And that&#8217;s exactly what you can see in the finished model.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>The colors work incredibly well<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In the actual film, the N-1 naturally features the familiar yellow color combined with highly glossy or chrome-plated surfaces.  <br\/>That&#8217;s exactly where a problem arises with LEGO, though.<\/p>\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-large is-resized\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.brick-tracker.de\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/IMG_5608-scaled.jpeg\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"768\" height=\"1024\" src=\"https:\/\/www.brick-tracker.de\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/IMG_5608-768x1024.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-5106\" style=\"width:614px;height:auto\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.brick-tracker.de\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/IMG_5608-768x1024.jpeg 768w, https:\/\/www.brick-tracker.de\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/IMG_5608-225x300.jpeg 225w, https:\/\/www.brick-tracker.de\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/IMG_5608-1152x1536.jpeg 1152w, https:\/\/www.brick-tracker.de\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/IMG_5608-1536x2048.jpeg 1536w, https:\/\/www.brick-tracker.de\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/IMG_5608-scaled.jpeg 1920w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 768px) 100vw, 768px\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">LEGO has produced virtually no standard chrome parts for many years. Consequently, it is not possible to recreate the original exactly in chrome. <br\/>For this reason <strong>,<\/strong> the conversion uses <strong>Metallic Silver, Gray, and Yellow<\/strong>. <br\/>Brixpando explains that there simply aren\u2019t enough suitable elements in Metallic Silver, especially for the engines. That\u2019s why the front sections\u2014or the silver areas\u2014are partially rendered in standard light gray.    <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Of course, real chrome would be in a whole different league.  <br\/>Still, I think the combination works really well.  <br\/>It&#8217;s the bright yellow with the metallic silver accents that really catches the eye and beautifully sets this model apart from that typical &#8220;gray-on-gray&#8221; look we see so often in Star Wars.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>The design is truly outstanding<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Let&#8217;s go through the entire model from the beginning.<\/p>\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-large is-resized\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.brick-tracker.de\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/IMG_5609-scaled.jpeg\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"768\" height=\"1024\" src=\"https:\/\/www.brick-tracker.de\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/IMG_5609-768x1024.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-5107\" style=\"width:428px;height:auto\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.brick-tracker.de\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/IMG_5609-768x1024.jpeg 768w, https:\/\/www.brick-tracker.de\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/IMG_5609-225x300.jpeg 225w, https:\/\/www.brick-tracker.de\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/IMG_5609-1152x1536.jpeg 1152w, https:\/\/www.brick-tracker.de\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/IMG_5609-1536x2048.jpeg 1536w, https:\/\/www.brick-tracker.de\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/IMG_5609-scaled.jpeg 1920w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 768px) 100vw, 768px\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The long, narrow tip of the N-1 was beautifully incorporated and transitions smoothly into the wider middle section. <br\/>What particularly caught my eye were the <strong>gap dimensions<\/strong>. <br\/>That\u2019s because, for this conversion, Patrick had to work with an incredible number of different angles. A large part of the surface consists of smooth yellow tiles, curved slopes, and other elements that somehow have to be incorporated into the organic shapes of the N-1.   <br\/>And yet, beneath the surface, there&#8217;s actually a pretty wild design in some cases.<\/p>\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-large is-resized\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.brick-tracker.de\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/IMG_5615-scaled.jpeg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\" src=\"https:\/\/www.brick-tracker.de\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/IMG_5615-1024x768.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-5108\" style=\"width:550px;height:auto\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.brick-tracker.de\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/IMG_5615-1024x768.jpeg 1024w, https:\/\/www.brick-tracker.de\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/IMG_5615-300x225.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/www.brick-tracker.de\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/IMG_5615-768x576.jpeg 768w, https:\/\/www.brick-tracker.de\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/IMG_5615-1536x1152.jpeg 1536w, https:\/\/www.brick-tracker.de\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/IMG_5615-2048x1536.jpeg 2048w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Nevertheless, the gaps between the individual angled surfaces remain surprisingly small.  <br\/>Especially when you consider the gaps that sometimes appear even in official LEGO sets, I think this has been executed really well.  <br\/>You can see this particularly well in the photos in the transition from the yellow central section to the silver wings: Many individual angles meet there, but the overall silhouette still appears very cohesive.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>The cockpit has also been completely redesigned<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The cockpit wasn&#8217;t simply based on the original Mando version either.  <br\/>In the official 75442 set, Din Djarin is, of course, seated in his custom-modified cockpit. For the Naboo conversion, this area was brought more in line with the classic N-1 design. <br\/>As a result, the cockpit looks much cleaner overall and fits much better with the look from Episode I. <br\/>The area directly behind it was also modified. <\/p>\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-large is-resized\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.brick-tracker.de\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/IMG_5610-scaled.jpeg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\" src=\"https:\/\/www.brick-tracker.de\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/IMG_5610-1024x768.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-5109\" style=\"width:570px;height:auto\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.brick-tracker.de\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/IMG_5610-1024x768.jpeg 1024w, https:\/\/www.brick-tracker.de\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/IMG_5610-300x225.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/www.brick-tracker.de\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/IMG_5610-768x576.jpeg 768w, https:\/\/www.brick-tracker.de\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/IMG_5610-1536x1152.jpeg 1536w, https:\/\/www.brick-tracker.de\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/IMG_5610-2048x1536.jpeg 2048w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Where <strong>Grogu<\/strong> sits under his little dome in the Mandalorian\u2019s N-1, the original Naboo Starfighter naturally has space for an astromech droid. <br\/>Patrick has therefore rebuilt this area accordingly. <br\/>For this model, he even used the large printed <strong>R2-D2 head from the<\/strong> 2017 <strong>LEGO Star Wars polybag 30611<\/strong>. With the classic N-1, of course, it was quite different. <\/p>\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-large is-resized\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.brick-tracker.de\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/IMG_5612-scaled.jpeg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\" src=\"https:\/\/www.brick-tracker.de\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/IMG_5612-1024x768.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-5117\" style=\"width:520px;height:auto\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.brick-tracker.de\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/IMG_5612-1024x768.jpeg 1024w, https:\/\/www.brick-tracker.de\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/IMG_5612-300x225.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/www.brick-tracker.de\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/IMG_5612-768x576.jpeg 768w, https:\/\/www.brick-tracker.de\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/IMG_5612-1536x1152.jpeg 1536w, https:\/\/www.brick-tracker.de\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/IMG_5612-2048x1536.jpeg 2048w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Accordingly, during this renovation, the engines were completely disassembled and reassembled to a much higher standard of cleanliness. <br\/>Brixpando itself describes them as practically <strong>\u201cbrand-new\u201d<\/strong> again <strong>.<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In the foreground, we have the gray or silver areas, and toward the background, the whole scene transitions back into a rich yellow.  <br\/>I find the rear yellow tips, in particular, quite interesting from a structural standpoint.  <br\/>The components are attached to the engines using various clips and brackets, which gives them this distinctive, elongated shape. Put it on a shelf? Perfect.    <br\/>So you can fly across the room with it and make the sounds yourself?  <br\/>Maybe not.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>A UCS model is still just a UCS model<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But that basically applies to the entire spaceship.  <br\/>The official 75442 set is clearly intended to be a large UCS display model. The set consists of <strong>1,809 pieces<\/strong> and measures 67 cm long, 39 cm wide, and 21 cm high. It includes the black UCS display stand with an information plaque.    <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And the best part is: Even after a complete rebuild, the Naboo N-1 still fits <strong>perfectly<\/strong> on <strong>this exact original display stand<\/strong>. LEGO officially sells set 75442 with exactly these two characters. <br\/>In this specific configuration, Din Djarin is technically an <strong>exclusive variant of the set<\/strong>. The set is intended for adults ages 18 and up and was released on Star Wars Day 2026. The unit price of the base set is therefore approximately <strong>13.8 cents per piece<\/strong>.    <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Brixpando Naboo version includes just under <strong>800<\/strong> additional <strong>parts for modification or replacement<\/strong>. However, this does not mean that the finished model simply has 1,809 plus 800 parts, since a large portion of the additional elements replace existing parts from the Mando model.   <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>My Conclusion<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you put the official model and this Naboo version side by side, you can, of course, immediately see a huge difference.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And I have to say quite clearly:<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>I like the Naboo version a lot better.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I think it&#8217;s really cool that Mando got this exact starfighter and that LEGO even made a UCS model of it.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But to me, the classic Naboo N-1 is just something else.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">That&#8217;s the version I grew up with. To me, that bright yellow and silver are just as much a part of Episode I as Naboo itself, and they&#8217;ve just stuck with me. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And on this scale, the ship looks completely different.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It&#8217;s large, imposing, and its color makes it a real eye-catcher.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Precisely because it seems like half of all Star Wars spaceships end up being gray, dark gray, or black, there&#8217;s suddenly this huge, <strong>bright-yellow spaceship<\/strong> sitting on the shelf.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And that&#8217;s exactly what I like about it.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>It&#8217;s hard to believe that LEGO didn&#8217;t design this themselves<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">What impresses me most about this model, though, is really the quality of the conversion.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Of course, there are a few more delicate spots, and here and there, small gaps form because of the many angles.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But when you actually have the finished model right in front of you, hardly any of those flaws stand out as negative.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The proportions are right, the color scheme works, the engines look seamless, the astromech is back where it belongs, and even from below, the whole thing looks neat.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In my opinion, very few non-LEGO fans would realize that this model <strong>wasn&#8217;t actually designed by an official LEGO designer<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">They&#8217;d take a look at it and probably just say:<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;Oh, so LEGO has released the Naboo Starfighter as an UCS set now.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And to me, that&#8217;s exactly the highest praise you can give a renovation like this.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>That&#8217;s exactly how I would have wanted a UCS Naboo N-1 to look<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If LEGO had officially released the model in roughly this form, it would actually be one of the UCS sets I&#8217;d seriously consider buying for myself.  <br\/>I don&#8217;t buy every large LEGO Star Wars UCS set, and I don&#8217;t need every huge gray spaceship on my shelf either.  <br\/>But a classic N-1 like that?<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This one\u2019s something special. <br\/>Especially at this scale, this elegant yet somewhat unusual design really comes into its own. <br\/>And if LEGO ever does release an official classic <strong>Naboo N-1 Starfighter as a UCS model<\/strong> again, I think they\u2019d have to measure up to this custom build.
