Because with the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.brick-tracker.de\/preisvergleich.php?set=67005\"><strong>LEGO Marvel 67005 Doctor Strange Supreme<\/strong><\/a> , we do get six pretty unusual Minifigures and plenty of references to <em>*What If\u2026?<\/em> * and <em>*Marvel Zombies<\/em>*. But when I look at the building and the price of just under 100 euros, I\u2019m not quite convinced yet.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And that\u2019s exactly what makes this set interesting to me: The minifigures can be really great without the entire set automatically becoming a must-buy. The back of the building is open, and inside there are small rooms and several movable portals. So, overall, it\u2019s more of a playset or a compact display model than a large, fully enclosed modular building.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.brick-tracker.de\/preisvergleich.php?set=67005\"><strong>Here you\u2019ll find a Price Comparison and, later on, price trends for the LEGO 67005.<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Six Marvel minifigures\u2014the real highlight for me<\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I think for many Marvel fans, the decision will depend mainly on the minifigures. Included are <strong>Strange Supreme, F.R.I.D.A.Y., Zombie Hunter Spider-Man, Red Queen, Zombie Namor, and Zombie Thor<\/strong>. The zombie versions and Strange Supreme in particular should be of interest to fans of the series.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I have to say: Personally, I thought <em>*What If\u2026?*<\/em> was a wonderful series. I really enjoyed watching it. And the first Marvel minifigure series was actually the very first minifigure series I ever bought\u2014simply because I thought the figures were so amazing. That\u2019s exactly why I\u2019m generally thrilled that LEGO is revisiting these slightly wackier Marvel versions.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But I also find it interesting that not every figure has to automatically appeal to everyone. Anyone who hasn\u2019t seen <em>*What If\u2026?<\/em> * or <em>*Marvel Zombies*<\/em> at all will probably not be very familiar with some of the characters. And there was already a different version of Zombie Hunter Spider-Man in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.brick-tracker.de\/preisvergleich.php?set=71031\">Marvel minifigure set 71031<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">That means this set could be quite interesting for minifigure collectors. On the other hand, if you\u2019re mainly looking to display a beautiful Sanctum Sanctorum on your shelf, you\u2019ll need to take a closer look at the building.<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Five small details that are easy to overlook<\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">LEGO has hidden a few Easter eggs inside that are barely noticeable at first glance. I generally love little details like these because they make a set much more interesting for fans of the source material.<\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">1. Two powerful spellbooks<\/h3>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In the library lie the <strong>Book of Cagliostro<\/strong> and the <strong>Book of Vishanti<\/strong>. Both are well-known magical artifacts from the Marvel Universe. The details are depicted using printed or decaled building elements.<\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">2. The Watcher observes everything<\/h3>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Hidden behind one of the moving portals is a reference to the <strong>Watcher<\/strong>, who observes the various realities in <em>*What If\u2026?*<\/em>. This, of course, fits perfectly with the multiverse theme.<\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">3. A dark Strange reference<\/h3>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Further up in the building, there\u2019s an image that appears to allude to Strange Supreme\u2019s demonic transformation. However, I\u2019d wait for the final details to be revealed before we definitively assign each motif to a specific scene.<\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">4. A cure for the zombie plague<\/h3>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In the lower section, there\u2019s a blue syringe that\u2019s meant to represent the <strong>zombie cure<\/strong>. Anyone familiar with the corresponding Marvel story should understand the reference right away.<\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">5. Throg, the Frog of Thunder<\/h3>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And then there really is a little green frog sitting there: <strong>Throg<\/strong>. A nice idea, even if this isn\u2019t an elaborately designed original character. A more detailed version of Throg was already available as an accessory in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.brick-tracker.de\/preisvergleich.php?set=71031\">71031 minifigure set<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Why the 99.99-euro building doesn&#8217;t win everyone over<\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">So, now we\u2019re getting to the point where I\u2019m a bit torn myself. From the front, the Sanctum certainly looks interesting. But the model is only about <strong>six centimeters deep<\/strong>. When you look at the interior, some parts seem pretty cramped and plain.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">That&#8217;s exactly what LEGO fans are discussing. While the minifigures are very popular, the narrow floors, the many stickers, and the rather sparse furnishings are viewed critically. Some people simply wish they could get more buildings for 100 euros.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And I can understand that criticism. Of course, not every Marvel set has to be a huge modular building. A smaller Sanctum might actually be just the right size for kids, for play, or for an existing LEGO City set. But at just under 100 euros, I do expect more than just the Minifigures to be impressive.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">By comparison, the large <a href=\"https:\/\/www.brick-tracker.de\/preisvergleich.php?set=76218\">Sanctum Sanctorum 76218<\/a> was in a completely different size class. The older <a href=\"https:\/\/www.brick-tracker.de\/preisvergleich.php?set=76108\">Sanctum Sanctorum Showdown 76108<\/a>, on the other hand, was also a playset, but had a different, wider design. The sets aren\u2019t directly comparable\u2014but they do show just how differently LEGO has already interpreted the building.<\/p>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.brick-tracker.de\/preisvergleich.php?set=76218\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.brick-tracker.de\/img_text\/76218n.webp\" alt=\"LEGO Marvel 76218 Sanctum Sanctorum &#x2013; large modular building from 2022\"\/><\/a><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">The large LEGO Sanctum Sanctorum (76218) from 2022. Click the image for Price Comparison and Price History on Brick-Tracker.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Would I pre-order the LEGO Doctor Strange Supreme set right away?<\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>I\u2019d only pre-order the set if there were a really interesting free gift with purchase (GWP) included at launch.<\/strong> Then, of course, you\u2019d have to see if the deal is worth it. Without such a bonus, I\u2019d be perfectly happy to wait, given the <strong>99.99 euro MSRP<\/strong>. After all, the set is also supposed to hit regular retail stores\u2014and we\u2019ll likely see much better prices there over time.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As I always say: For a standard LEGO set, I aim for at least <strong>a 30 to 35 percent discount<\/strong>; it really starts to get interesting for me at <strong>38 percent<\/strong>. With a MSRP of 99.99 euros <strong>,<\/strong> that would be about <strong>69.99 euros at a 30 percent discount, 64.99 euros at a 35 percent discount, and 61.99 euros at a 38 percent discount<\/strong>. If you don\u2019t absolutely need the figures on the first day, I think you can take your time and wait for a good deal here.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And as always, just because a set goes out of production at some point doesn\u2019t automatically make it a good LEGO Investment. The mix of <em>\u201cWhat If\u2026?<\/em>,\u201d Marvel zombies, and the little hidden references really has something special. And for me, the six minifigures are definitely the strongest part.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But I also have to say: So far, the building hasn\u2019t really blown me away for 100 euros. Maybe it looks better once it\u2019s set up than it does in the first pictures. Maybe it\u2019ll become really interesting with a decent discount. At the MSRP, it would only be worth considering for me if it came with a really attractive gift with purchase. Otherwise, I\u2019d rather wait for a 30, 35, or\u2014ideally\u201438 percent discount.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Now I&#8217;m curious to hear your thoughts:<\/strong> Are the six Minifigures reason enough for you to buy this set?
