Gamescom 2026: What to Expect at the LEGO Booth—Free Polybags, Minifigures, Make & Takes, and More

Hi there!

Gamescom 2026 in Cologne is now in full swing, and we’ve since learned that there are some truly special things for LEGO fans to discover at the event—and in some cases, even pick up for free.

But first, and most importantly: Unfortunately, we won’t be able to attend Gamescom in person this year. Much of the information and images we’ve received therefore come from kind LEGO fans and members of the community who shared them with us . We’d like to take this opportunity to thank them!
However, especially when it comes to the free giveaways, I can’t guarantee that everything will still be available over the weekend or on every day of the trade show. Many promotions apparently have a daily limit, and when they say “while supplies last,” they really mean it—as long as supplies last.

So what’s there to see at the LEGO booth?

Exclusive Batman Polybag 30762 Available for Free

One of the first things that immediately caught my eye, of course, is related to LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight.
In the LEGO Batman area, you can already try out the upcoming Mayhem Collection DLC. Anyone who completes the corresponding challenges or the demo there will receive the LEGO 30762 Retro Video Game Batman polybag.
The polybag contains the purple-clad Retro Video Game Batman and was originally intended as a bonus for the Nintendo Switch 2 Deluxe Edition of LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight. Now, you could already get the figure for free at Gamescom.

Of course, this is particularly interesting for collectors.
And, after a few detours, I actually managed to get my hands on a copy on the very first day of the trade show. It should arrive in the next few days, and as soon as I have the polybag in my hands, I’ll of course post a detailed review here right away.
Then I’ll also go into more detail about what I think of LEGO giving away this actually special bonus figure for free at Gamescom.

You can also get a Joker Minifigure

But Batman isn’t the only Minifigure available there.
In the same area, you can also win a Joker Minifigure. According to the information on site, this is the Joker variant from the 76303 Batman Tumbler vs. Two-Face & The Joker set.
In keeping with Mayhem Mode, there are various tasks and activities. Among other things, you can leave graffiti in the game as the Joker. There’s also a high-score challenge where you can even win complete LEGO Batman sets.

Stamp Rally with a Golden LEGO Keychain

There’s also a classic stamp rally again.
You’ll receive a small passport and can collect stamps at the various LEGO areas.
According to reports from the community so far, four of the nine possible stamps are enough to get a gold-colored LEGO keychain shaped like a 2×4 brick.
Apparently, there were additional giveaways—such as a LEGO cap—especially during the first few days. However, I can’t guarantee that it will still be available this weekend.

In addition, there are some smaller goodies available at individual stations. At the LEGO Super Mario station, for example, visitors can earn a special sticker set by taking a short quiz.

Like I said: Especially with free stuff like this, I’d recommend checking back as early in the day as possible.
Once the daily quota is used up, you might not get another chance until the next day.

LEGO Skylines with a Wheel of Fortune and Prizes

Of course, the newly announced LEGO Skylines is also featured at the expo.
Although the game itself isn’t playable there at the moment, LEGO has set up its own area complete with a photo op and a wheel of fortune.
Prizes available on the wheel of fortune include LEGO Skylines stickers, bags, lanyards, and small LEGO Technic sets.

Especially since the game was only officially unveiled during Opening Night Live, I think it’s pretty cool that LEGO gave it its own section at Gamescom right away.

Two Make & Takes

You can also build your own models there.
One of the Make & Takes is Tony Tony Chopper’s hat from LEGO One Piece. The small model consists of about 30 pieces and has previously been available at various LEGO events in Japan.

In addition, there’s another “Make & Take” activity in the large LEGO Pokémon area.
Before that, you can also check out the new LEGO Pokémon SMART Play Sets there and try out the system for yourself.

Giant Charizard in LEGO Pokémon

And the Pokémon area has even more to offer.
Among other things, there’s a giant buildable Charizard, which, of course, makes for a perfect photo op. There’s also a large Pikachu display and the complete exhibition dedicated to LEGO Pokémon SMART Play.

Especially when you consider that LEGO Pokémon only really took off this year, the franchise is already getting quite a bit of attention at Gamescom.

LEGO Fortnite with a Giant Rave Cave

As expected, one of the largest sections of the entire LEGO exhibit is dedicated to LEGO Fortnite.
The entrance was designed to match the 77082 Rave Cave set and is practically a life-size replica of the Rave Cave.

The giant Loot-Lama, which some of us already know from previous LEGO events, is back there again.
There are also large models of the Cuddle Team Leader and Adventure Peely, as well as various opportunities to try out LEGO Fortnite and, of course, take plenty of photos.
For Fortnite fans, this area is sure to be one of the highlights of the LEGO booth.

LEGO One Piece with Large Displays

LEGO One Piece is also getting plenty of attention at Gamescom.
The various sets are set up there in really cool displays, which, in my opinion, really make them stand out even more.
And of course, there’s the previously mentioned “Make & Take” activity at Chopper’s Hut.

Even though One Piece isn’t strictly speaking a gaming theme at all, I still think it fits pretty well into the overall presentation.

The New LEGO Super Mario Sets Make Their Live Debut

The new LEGO Super Mario sets for 2027 are also particularly exciting.
They were officially unveiled on Wednesday during Gamescom and can now be seen in person there for the first time.

The standout feature of the new line is, of course, the Super Mario Minifigures, which are included as standard for the first time. LEGO has specifically designed this new generation of sets with a focus on more classic role-play with Minifigures.
In addition to the sets, there’s also a large Mario display and the quiz mentioned earlier, where you can win stickers.

Ricardo Silva was also there

Also in attendance was Ricardo Silva, currently Design Manager for LEGO Super Mario.
Members of the community told us, among other things, about an autograph session. Ricardo also presented the new Super Mario sets at the event and provided insights into the models.

Ricardo has been working at LEGO for many years and has been involved in a wide range of different sets. These include, for example, 21316 The Flintstones, various LEGO Friends sets, and most recently, among others, 77058 Goldie’s Cosy House from LEGO Animal Crossing.
So this is definitely a cool opportunity for fans to meet a LEGO designer in person.

Minecraft, Forza, and Other Gaming Sets

LEGO has also pulled out all the stops in other areas as well.
The LEGO Minecraft area features, among other things, a giant Creeper model and a playable demo of Minecraft Dungeons II.

At Forza Horizon 6, there are once again LEGO-built racing simulators where visitors can drive themselves. Those who beat certain target times can also win prizes there.
And, of course, there are many current gaming-themed sets on display—such as the LEGO Game Boy and other Nintendo and gaming models.
So there’s really quite a lot to see.

Müller Local Deals

There’s also a Müller store near the actual LEGO area.
There are various deals available there. For example, if you spend at least 100 euros, you can get a free LEGO Fortnite T-shirt—also while supplies last.

Where can you find LEGO at Gamescom?

The large LEGO booth is located in Hall 9.
The official booth locations are:

A-029

A-030 / B-029

A-040

This information comes directly from the official Gamescom exhibitor directory.
So if you’re still at the fair on Saturday or Sunday, at least you’ll know where to go.

My Conclusion

In my opinion, this year’s Gamescom is really well organized for LEGO fans.
There are an incredible number of different areas, including large models for photography, the latest sets, games to try out, make-and-take activities, and, of course, plenty of free giveaways.

My personal highlight is definitely the 30762 Retro Video Game Batman polybag.
Especially since this was originally announced as a special bonus for the Nintendo Switch 2 version of the game, I think it’s pretty crazy that you can just get it for free here.
As I said, mine is already on its way, and as soon as it arrives, you’ll of course get a full review right here on the blog.

If you’re planning to go to Gamescom yourselves, I’d really recommend heading to the LEGO booth as early as possible—especially for the free giveaways. Some items are apparently limited to a certain number per day, and what was available on Wednesday or Thursday might not necessarily still be there over the weekend.
Still, based on everything I’ve seen so far and what I’ve received from the community, LEGO’s presentation really makes a great impression.

Now I’m curious: Who among you is going to Gamescom this year?
What did you get at the LEGO booth, and what was your personal highlight?
