Once again, there’s a cool, free ” Make & Take” building event taking place at LEGO Stores.
To celebrate the upcoming return to Hogwarts and the new LEGO Harry Potter sets, you can build a small LEGO mini-castle on September 2 and 3, 2026, and then take it home for free. LEGO itself is running the promotion under the name “Build a LEGO Mini-Castle and Take It Home!”

Build a LEGO Mini Castle for Free
The construction event will take place on the following two days:
September 2, 2026 – 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
September 3, 2026 – 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
At the event, you can build a small section of Hogwarts Castle. The model sits on a 6×6 plate, making it a really small—but, in my opinion, quite pretty—mini-model for your Collection.
And the best part: Once you’ve built it, you can take the castle home with you for free.
No purchase is necessary, and the model itself isn’t available for regular sale. LEGO explicitly states that this is an exclusive model for this build-along event.
While supplies last
As with previous Make & Take events, however, the following still applies:
There will be only a limited number of mini castles available on both days. LEGO itself states: First come, first served. Additionally, each person may build and take home only one mini castle.
Especially with free LEGO Store promotions like this, the models can sometimes run out pretty quickly. So, in my opinion, if you really want the little castle, you shouldn’t wait until just before 5 p.m. to show up at the store.
Open to participants ages 10 and up.
Of course, younger children can still participate. This is just a recommended age range.
My Conclusion
I always think these free LEGO Store building events are pretty cool anyway.
You go there, build a small model together, and can then take it home right away. And in my opinion, a little Hogwarts castle is the perfect fit for the current Harry Potter craze.
If you want this model, though, you should really get there as early as possible. Supplies are limited, and the free “Make & Take” models, in particular, can run out quickly.
