Build a free LEGO ghost scene and take it home—Halloween building event in October

Hi there!

Just in time for Spooky Season, there will be another small, free building event at LEGO Stores at the end of October.
On October 28 and 29, 2026, you can build a small LEGO ghost scene at participating LEGO Stores and then take it home for free. The model features a little ghost along with a pumpkin and a lantern, making it the perfect fit for Halloween.

Let’s take a quick look at when and how you can participate.

Let’s get started!

Build the LEGO Ghost Scene for Free

The event will take place on October 28 and 29, 2026, from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. each day.
You can participate at participating LEGO Stores in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. However, LEGO explicitly notes that the number of models is limited on both days. So the classic rule applies: First come, first served. Especially if you really want the model, I wouldn’t wait until just before 5:00 PM to show up at the store.

A small Halloween model for your home

You’ll be building a small Halloween scene featuring a ghost, a pumpkin, and a lantern.
The model is, of course, much smaller than a regular set, but I always find these kinds of small “make-and-take” models particularly charming.
You build it right there in the LEGO Store and can then take the finished model home for free.
By the way, you can’t buy the ghost scene separately. LEGO also limits the promotion to one model per person.

According to LEGO, this building set is intended for children ages 6 and up. The model or activity may be less suitable for younger children.
So it’s really just a nice little activity for families who have a LEGO Store nearby anyway.

And, of course, the timing is perfect, especially at the end of October.
Halloween is just a few days away, so here’s a little LEGO decoration for your home.

As is usually the case with these LEGO Store building events, supplies are limited.
Only a limited number of ghost scenes will be available each day. Once the daily allocation is gone, that’s it for that day. LEGO explicitly states that they are available “while supplies last” and will be distributed on a “first come, first served” basis.
So if you absolutely want this model, it’s best to check back relatively early in the promotion period.

My Conclusion

I think these little LEGO Store events—especially the ones with seasonal themes—are always pretty cool.
Of course, you don’t get a huge set for free, but that’s not what these kinds of promotions are about in the first place.

Building a little ghost scene, taking it home afterward, and putting it right on the shelf as a Halloween decoration—to me, that’s the perfect way to celebrate the spooky season. And since we’re already taking a look at various LEGO Halloween sets here on the blog every now and then, this little building project fits right in, of course.

Now it’s your turn: Will you stop by a LEGO Store on October 28 or 29?
And what do you think of these kinds of free “make-and-take” events in general?

Feel free to write anything in the comments!
