Today and Tomorrow: Free LEGO Harry Potter Make & Take
A quick reminder for anyone who happens to be near a LEGO Store today or tomorrow: On September 3 and 4, 2026, you can build a small LEGO Harry Potter Butterbeer cart there and take it home for free.
The event will take place on both days from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at participating LEGO Stores in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland.
What do you need to keep in mind?
As is usual with these “make-and-take” events, the number of items is limited. So first come, first served.
- September 3, 2026, from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
- September 4, 2026, from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
- one model per person
- While supplies last
- Designed for children ages 6 and up
- This model is not sold regularly.
I wouldn’t go out of my way to plan a long trip just for this, but if you happen to have a LEGO Store nearby anyway, it’s definitely a nice free activity—especially with kids.
Small model, nice free promotion
The Butterbeer Truck is a small Harry Potter model that comes with two Butterbeer mugs and a few nice details. It’s certainly not a huge set, but that’s not really the point of these kinds of promotions anyway.
You can build something right there, then take the model home with you—and it won’t cost you a thing. I always think these “make-and-take” models are a nice little addition to a Harry Potter Collection.

Compare LEGO prices beforehand anyway
If you want to combine your visit to the LEGO Store with some shopping, I’d recommend—as always—comparing prices beforehand. You can find many sets at retail stores for significantly less than the MSRP.
In Brick-Tracker, you can compare the latest LEGO Deals, add sets to your Wishlist, and sign up for Deal Alerts to get notified as soon as your desired price is reached.
