Hey there!
Today we’re taking a look at the 140th issue of LEGO Star Wars Magazine.
The issue was released on October 9, 2026, for 5.99 euros and comes with a pretty interesting Minifigure this time: K-2SO from *Rogue One* or *Andor*.
Precisely because we haven’t seen this character very often in LEGO sets so far, it’s worth taking a closer look.
Let’s get started!
K-2SO as a Bonus
The big bonus of this issue is, of course, K-2SO.
The figure stands out somewhat simply because the head and torso are made from a single molded piece. Together with the two droid arms and the special leg piece, K-2SO consists of only four parts in total.
On the front of the chest is a delicate silver square print, complemented by smaller blue and gray accents.
The imperial insignia also appear on both shoulders, while the white eyes are printed on the head.
And it’s this head in particular that makes things interesting.
A Comparison of the New and Old K-2SO Figures
K-2SO was already available as a Minifigure in 2016 in set 75156 Krennic’s Imperial Shuttle.
This first version, sw0782, actually appeared only in this one set. The current version, sw1412, on the other hand, first appeared in 2025 in set 75399 Rebel U-Wing Starfighter and then again in the large buildable 75434 K-2SO.
At first glance, both figures look almost identical.
And indeed, the new version continues to use the same basic design for the combined head and torso. The differences are mainly in the prints and the leg element.
The older version from 2016 features significantly more battle-damage details. On the side of the head, there are small silver signs of wear and tear, as well as a tiny red dot.
Back then, the chest panel was also designed in a mix of dark gray and silver.
The new version has a much cleaner overall look: The chest panel is mostly silver, the colored details are slightly smaller, and the wear marks on the head are gone.
This makes the new K-2SO look a bit “fresher,” while the old *Rogue One* version already looks significantly more worn.
The leg design has also been changed: The current figure uses the newer version with a gap between the feet, whereas the 2016 version was still closed there.
Of interest to MOCs in several ways
And that’s exactly why I find K-2SO as a magazine insert quite interesting. Of course, the figure is specifically meant to represent K-2SO.
But after all, there are other droids from the KX series in the Star Wars universe.
So, for example, if you’re building an Imperial base, an Andor scene, or generally a larger Star Wars MOC, you can relatively easily get several of these droids through the magazine.
For this purpose, a magazine insert like this is, of course, much more convenient than having to buy a large set multiple times.
The two posters
As usual, I won’t go into much detail about the comics and puzzles. Of course, there are plenty of those again this time.
I find the two posters more interesting.
The first one shows Grogu together with the little Anzellan droid smiths and their spaceship.
This is the 75445 Anzellan Starship, which was released in 2026 and includes Grogu as well as two Anzellans. The accompanying slogan reads: “Big Galaxy, Little Heroes.”
I also really like the second poster.
In it, we see Cassian Andor alongside K-2SO, while a U-wing flies through the scene in the background. The caption simply reads: “Hope.”
It goes perfectly with *Rogue One* and *Andor*, of course .
The next issue is going to be really interesting
And now we’ll take a look at Issue 141.
The next issue will be released on November 6, 2026, and will include a special feature that LEGO Star Wars fans have actually been waiting for quite a while: a Crab Droid.
The small model consists of 54 pieces and depicts the four-legged LM-432 Crab Droid from the Clone Wars era.
And I find that really exciting.
LEGO hasn’t given us a proper official Crab Droid in this form in all these years.
Fan designers have long since filled this gap, and Brix just4me, for example, even had its own version in its lineup.
Now LEGO is finally following suit.
And since the droid is initially being released as a magazine supplement, Issue 141 might actually turn out to be one of those issues that I wouldn’t mind picking up more than one copy of.
After all, you can definitely use several Crab Droids, especially for Separatist armies and larger Clone Wars MOCs.
My Conclusion
I really like issue 140 of LEGO Star Wars Magazine.
For 5.99 euros, K-2SO is a figure that, while not entirely new, has so far only been included in two regular sets in this current version.
I also find the comparison with the old version from 2016 quite interesting. At first glance, they’re almost identical, but upon closer inspection, there are a few small differences.
And if you don’t necessarily need K-2SO himself, you can use the figure perfectly as another KX security droid for your own MOCs.
I also like the two posters, and with the Crab Droid in Issue 141, the next pretty exciting bonus is already just around the corner.
Now it’s your turn: What do you think of Issue 140?
Did you pick up K-2SO, and will you maybe even snag multiple Crab Droids next month?
Feel free to write anything in the comments!
