Hi there!
Today, we’re taking a look at the 23rd issue of LEGO Marvel Spider-Man Magazine. And this issue is actually something special, because for 6.99 euros, we get two pretty cool LEGO extras included.
The set includes Hobgoblin with his glider and the Venomized Green Goblin, who also comes with his own glider.
And aside from the fact that these two figures are a great deal for the price, they’re also a perfect fit for our current Spooky Season.
Let’s get started!
Two LEGO figures for 6.90 euros
Issue 23 was released in early October and includes two full-length bonus features.
At the time of release, both figures still had a fairly decent individual value on BrickLink. The Venomized Green Goblin was priced at just under €10, while the Hobgoblin was sometimes even listed at around €12.
The magazine has now been on the market for a few weeks, and prices have settled down a bit as a result.
The Venomized Green Goblin is now available for about 4€, while the Hobgoblin from Germany still costs around 6€ to 8 €.
With a magazine price of 6.99 euros, I don’t think there’s any reason to complain.
Hobgoblin with a glider
Let’s start with my personal favorite: Hobgoblin.
The figure comes in his classic orange-and-dark-blue color scheme and is carrying a pumpkin bomb.
I especially like the printed legs and torso. Then there’s the orange hood and the flexible rubber cape.
However, this version doesn’t come with a second face.
The little glider is mainly purple and black. The setup is pretty simple, but it ensures that you can display Hobgoblin much more attractively than if the figure were just standing alone on the shelf.
And here’s a fun fact: LEGO has actually only released two different Hobgoblin Minifigures so far.
The first one appeared back in 2016 in the 76058 Spider-Man: Ghost Rider Team-Up set. The newer version with a flexible cape first appeared in 2025 in the 76317 Peter Parker’s Apartment set.
This means that, despite his popularity, Hobgoblin is surprisingly rare in the LEGO lineup.
And that makes me especially happy, because I also own the older version from 2016. So now I actually have both versions.
Maybe we’ll take another look at the two of them in a head-to-head comparison sometime.
Venomized Green Goblin
The second bonus figure is the Venomized Green Goblin. And this one is really well done, too.
For me, the highlight is definitely the combination of the torso and head prints. The classic Green Goblin design is gradually being taken over by the black Venom symbiote.
The head is even printed on both sides. If you flip it over, Venom takes over the face even more distinctly.
On the other hand, I think the legs are a bit of a letdown. They’re plain black, and there aren’t any additional prints on the arms either. Especially with a character where the symbiote covers the entire body, they could have certainly done a little more there.
Still, the figure looks really good overall.
The glider also incorporates this design: one side resembles the classic Green Goblin even more, while Venom is already taking over the other side. It also features a classic pumpkin bomb.
The Venomized Green Goblin first appeared in 2024, including in the 76279 Spider-Man Race Car and Venom Green Goblin set.
The magazine itself is worth checking out this time, too
Usually, in these reviews, I don’t go into much detail about the comics and puzzles in the issue.
This time, though, I’d like to at least mention them briefly, because they, too, fit in pretty well with the Halloween season.
So if you’ve already bought the magazine, you should definitely flip through it instead of just tearing out the LEGO packets and setting the magazine aside right away. The comic is really cute.
I also really like the posters this time around.
Sinister Six vs. Spider-Man
The large poster in the middle shows Spider-Man being chased by the Sinister Six. And it looks truly epic.
Actually, this is one of those magazine posters that makes me think about framing it nicely and hanging it up somewhere.
The second poster also takes a pretty cool direction.
There, we see a combination of Spider-Man and Venom, each making up half of the image, along with the tagline: “We are Venom.”
I really like it, too.
The next issue will feature two Minifigures again.
The preview for the next issue is also interesting.
The upcoming issue is scheduled to be released on November 27 and will once again include two Minifigures.
This time, we get Spider-Woman in her Venom outfit, as well as Miles Morales.
That’s another great combination.
Personally, though, I like Hobgoblin and Venomized Green Goblin from the current issue just a little bit better.
My Conclusion
For me, Issue 23 of the LEGO Marvel Spider-Man Magazine is one of the more interesting issues to come out recently.
For 6.99 euros, you get two minifigures complete with gliders—and Hobgoblin, in particular, is still a pretty good deal if bought separately.
Plus, both characters are a perfect fit for the Halloween season.
I personally really like *Hobgoblin*, and since I already own the first version from 2016, I’m naturally even happier to now have both versions in my Collection.
But the Venomized Green Goblin also makes quite an impression with his half-transformed face and matching glider.
For me, the two posters really round out this issue nicely.
For 6.99 euros, I don’t think you can really go wrong with this.
Now it’s your turn: Did you pick up Issue 23, too?
Which of the two figures do you like better, and what do you think of the two extras?
Feel free to write anything in the comments!
