So, here’s another LEGO news item where I’m especially curious to hear your thoughts. A Batman Minifigure that was promoted as an exclusive just a few weeks ago might soon be making a comeback as a free gift. Keep in mind: This is just a rumor so far and not a confirmed LEGO promotion.
What’s the story behind the Batman Minifigure?
The focus is on LEGO 30762 Retro Video Game Batman. The figure is visually inspired by an older Batman video game and stands out with its pixelated torso and purple details. According to a report by Brick Fanatics, it was initially only available with the Deluxe Edition of LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight for Nintendo Switch 2.

What exactly is being claimed about November?
According to the report, the tip picked up by Brick Fanatics came from an Instagram user. It suggests that LEGO set 30762 could be available as a free gift with purchases of $40 or more from the LEGO DC lineup from November 9 through 15, 2026.
However: Neither the timeframe nor the minimum order amount has been confirmed by LEGO. And even if the promotion launches in one country, that doesn’t automatically mean we’ll get it in Germany as well. That’s why I wouldn’t place any extra orders right now just because this rumor is circulating.
Why could this be frustrating for collectors?
What’s really interesting to me isn’t the potential purchase price of $40 at all. It’s the question of what happens to a figure that was just recently considered exclusive. According to Brick Fanatics, prices ranging from 80 to 100 British pounds have been achieved on eBay for individual copies. These are reported individual sales and are explicitly not a current market price verified by us.
If a figure like this suddenly becomes much more widely available, that can of course affect demand and people’s willingness to pay. But that’s not necessarily the case every time. Condition, packaging, actual quantity, and availability in individual countries also play a role.
I keep saying: Just because something seems rare or exclusive today doesn’t guarantee it will retain a high collector’s value in the long run. That’s exactly why I find this potential move so exciting.
Would a re-release be fair?
From my perspective, there are two understandable points of view. Anyone who bought the expensive Deluxe Edition mainly for the figure would likely be annoyed if it became available at a much lower price just a few weeks later. On the other hand, anyone who missed out on the figure so far would probably be delighted.
And I’m curious to hear your thoughts: Should LEGO be allowed to re-release figures that were originally advertised as exclusives? Or do you consider such exclusivity to be part of the promise made at the time of purchase? Feel free to share your thoughts in the comments—especially among collectors, there are likely to be quite a few different opinions on this.
We’re waiting for official confirmation
Until LEGO makes an announcement itself, this is all just a rumor. If the promotion does indeed happen, we’ll of course check to see if Germany is included, what the terms are, and whether it’s even worth buying.
