Hey.
LEGO has finally officially unveiled a set that we’ve known was coming for some time. Now we have all the official images and information. It’s the new LEGO Ideas E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial (21370) set.
The set will be released on August 1, 2026; it is already available for pre-order and is expected to be a LEGO exclusive—or at least temporarily exclusive —at launch.
Let’s take a closer look at the set.
Of course, the large E.T. figure immediately catches your eye. Overall, it looks very similar to the character in the movie and features some interesting construction techniques.
My eyes were immediately drawn to the neck. A barrel was used as a structural element there. The technique works well in principle, but you can see the barrel quite clearly. That bothers me a little personally, because it detracts somewhat from the illusion.
I also notice the gray joints on the arms. They stand out a bit in terms of color and disrupt the otherwise very harmonious overall look. Aside from that, though, I really like the figure.
I think the head is particularly well-designed. It’s fully movable—it can tilt both up and down and even rotate 360 degrees. Plus, E.T. can open his mouth.
The arms and hands are also movable, making it easy to recreate many of the film’s legendary scenes.
Of course, the familiar details from the movie are also included. In one hand, E.T. holds a small flowerpot with sunflowers, and his long finger can glow red—just like in the movie.
His chest also has this well-known light-up feature. Inside is a red LEGO light brick. When you press the small lever on the back of the figure, the chest area lights up—a really nice touch.
Overall, I think this set is a great addition to the LEGO Ideas line.

My Conclusion
I think this set turned out really well. It’s exactly what you’d expect from a LEGO adaptation of E.T. As far as I can tell, no stickers were used, which of course makes me especially happy.
In my opinion, the value for the price is also perfectly reasonable for a licensed LEGO Ideas set. Fans of the movie, in particular, will get a truly beautiful display piece with some nice features.
In my opinion, this model is definitely one of the better LEGO Ideas sets released recently.
