LEGO Shop Deals for October 2026: New Ideas Freebie with a Purchase of €130 or More
Starting Wednesday, October 28, 2026, a new free LEGO gift will be available: the LEGO Ideas set “Build, Paint, and Play!” (40889) will be included as a gift with purchases of 130 euros or more at the official LEGO Shop or participating LEGO Stores—while supplies last. This is an unusual little model, especially for adult fans and collectors, as it represents the hobby of model building itself.
What’s behind the new LEGO Ideas gift?
The set features a miniature model-building workshop with cutting tools, a casting frame, tubes of paint and glue, and a paintbrush. At the center is a small astronaut who looks as if he’s in the process of being assembled and painted. The idea originated in the LEGO Ideas “Build Your Hobby” contest and was revised for the official release.
If you’d like to see the model, you can already find it on the official LEGO product page. The page currently lists a regular price of 19.99 euros. To find out whether you can purchase it separately on the promotion day, you should check directly with the Seller.
Starting October 28: What are the terms and conditions?
- Scheduled start date: October 28, 2026.
- Minimum order value: 130 euros worth of qualifying LEGO products.
- Where to buy: The LEGO Online Store and participating official LEGO Stores.
- Availability: while supplies last; a specific end date is not specified in this announcement.
The terms and conditions are taken from the previously published announcement. On October 28, buyers should be sure to check the current LEGO promotion terms and conditions and their shopping cart again: Only a gift that actually appears in the cart is a reliable indication that the promotion applies to the order. A free gift added after the fact is not guaranteed.
My take: A nice bonus, but not a reason to make an expensive purchase
I like the idea behind this set: Instead of yet another vehicle or figure, it’s a small tribute to building and collecting. The details featuring the tools and astronaut are what make this free gift particularly interesting for LEGO fans.
Still, I wouldn’t overestimate the value of the gift as a selling point. If you were planning to order a set for at least 130 euros anyway, the GWP is a nice bonus. On the other hand, if you’re buying at the full LEGO list price just for the gift, you might be able to save significantly more at other sellers. That’s why comparing prices to the current market rate is a must.
For your planned purchases, it’s worth checking out the latest LEGO Top Deals and the live Deals on Brick-Tracker. For sets that are about to be discontinued, the LEGO Market Analysis is also helpful. A free bonus doesn’t make up for a poor starting price—especially when it comes to LEGO Investment.
Bottom line: Compare prices twice before buying
The new Ideas gift is a creative collector’s item that’s sure to appeal to many fans starting October 28. I’d first check whether my desired set is competitively priced in the LEGO Shop, then confirm the free gift in my cart, and only then place my order.
