Today we’re not talking about LEGO, but about a collaboration that many Pokémon fans are probably looking forward to right now.
To celebrate Pokémon’s 30th anniversary, adidas is preparing an extensive sneaker collection. In recent months, more and more retailer data, article numbers, and product images have surfaced.
As it currently stands, the collection includes 14 different adult models as well as an additional children’s version .
The complete collection has not yet been officially unveiled by adidas and Pokémon. Therefore, today we’ll take a brief look at which models are currently known and what information we already have.
Let’s get started!
First things first
The information currently available comes primarily from retailer lists, release databases, and previously published product images. adidas itself has not yet released a complete German overview listing all prices, sizes, and release dates.
The release window is currently set for September 2026. September 1, 2026, is often cited, but this date should still be considered tentative at this time. It is also not yet certain whether all models will be released simultaneously and in all countries. (Sneaker News)
All adult models known to date
Pikachu
Pikachu is getting three different pairs of sneakers:
- adidas Superstar II Pikachu – Item Number KI2857
- adidas Superstar II Pikachu – Item Number KI2858
- adidas Pro Model or Superstar II Mid Pikachu – Item Number KI2862
Both model names are currently in circulation for KI2862. The item number is therefore the most reliable way to uniquely identify the shoe. (House of Heat°)
Charmander, Charmeleon, and Charizard
The entire evolution line of Charmander is also represented:
- adidas Superstar II Charmander – Item Number KI2855
- adidas Superstar II Glutexo – Item Number KI2856
- adidas Superstar Vintage Charizard – Item Number KI2861
This means that each of the three development stages has its own model.
Nebulak, Alpollo, and Gengar
The entire Gengar evolution line will also get three pairs of sneakers:
- adidas adiStar Control 5 Nebulak – Item Number KJ5610
- adidas adiStar Control 5 Alpollo – Item Number KJ5611
- adidas adiStar XLG 2.0 Gengar – Item Number KJ5609
Early overviews used different names, particularly for the Nebulak model. More recent product and release data list KJ5610 as the adiStar Control 5.
Mewtwo
Mewtwo will also be getting three adult models:
- adidas Samba OG Mewtu – Item Number KI8220
- adidas Handball Special Mewtu – Item Number KI8213
- adidas ZX 8000 Mewtu – Item Number KI5326
Especially with the Samba, you’ll need to pay close attention to the item number later on, since a separate children’s version is also scheduled to be released. (Grailify)
Rayquaza
As things stand now, Rayquaza is getting not just one, but two different pairs of shoes:
- adidas F50 Tunit Mega or Megaride F50 Rayquaza – Item Number KI5325
- adidas adiStar Control 5 Rayquaza – Item Number KI8179
Several names are currently circulating for the first model. Some sources call it the F50 Tunit Mega, while others refer to it as the Megaride F50. Here, too, the part number KI5325 is the most definitive identifier.
The separate children’s version
In addition to the 14 adult models, one separate grade-school version is known so far:
- adidas Samba OG Mewtu Grade School – Item Number KI8222
This brings our total to 15 different item numbers, or SKUs: 14 adult models and one children’s shoe.

Prices in Germany and Europe
A fully confirmed price list for Germany and Europe is not yet available.
Based on the U. S. data available so far, prices range from approximately $110 to $180, depending on the model. Among others, the standard Superstar models and the Mewtwo Samba are priced at $110, the Gengar adiStar XLG at $150, the Mewtwo ZX 8000 at $170, and the Rayquaza F50 at $180.
For Europe, prices are currently estimated to range roughly from 110 to 180 euros. However, this estimate is still preliminary. U.S. prices cannot be automatically applied one-to-one to the German market, as adidas may set different price points there.
Men’s, women’s, or unisex?
The information available regarding the sizes and official classification is also not yet entirely clear.
Some American release databases list the adult models as “Men’s,” while other sources mention a release in unisex sizes. It remains to be seen how adidas will categorize the shoes in its German online store.
There is currently no known women’s collection. Of course, the designs can be worn by anyone, regardless of category. Those who normally buy women’s sizes should pay special attention to the foot length in centimeters specified by adidas.
Specific size ranges for the European market have not yet been officially released.
Planned Sale
The collection is currently expected to be available in September 2026 through adidas and select sneaker retailers.
It has not yet been confirmed whether all 15 variants will be released on the same day. It is also possible that some models will be available only in select markets or at different times.
Also expected are special Pokémon details on the shoes, custom tongue labels and insoles, Poké Ball and Master Ball elements, as well as specially designed packaging. Complementary clothing and accessories for adults and children are also in the works, but have not yet been fully unveiled.
My Conclusion
I have to say, I’m really liking this collaboration so far.
Especially for the 30th anniversary, I think it’s fitting that adidas isn’t just releasing a single Pikachu shoe, but is instead featuring several product lines and different Pokémon.
I find it particularly interesting that not only Charmander, Charmeleon, and Charizard, but also Vulpix, Alolan Vulpix, and Gengar are all fully represented. Mewtwo and Rayquaza even get several different shoe models.
Still, it’s best to remain cautious until the official unveiling. Prices, sizes, model names, and possibly even specific release dates are still subject to change.
In any case, I’m curious to see when adidas will officially unveil the entire collection and which models will actually be available in Germany in the end.
