Hey.
The latest issue of the LEGO Star Wars Magazine, Issue 135, was released at the end of last month. As previously announced, this issue includes a really cool extra: the Jango Fett minifigure along with one of two possible tin boxes.
Most magazine stores carry two variants. One is a tin box shaped like Jango Fett’s helmet, and the other is a rectangular tin box featuring Jango Fett in full armor.
This issue costs €7.99, and we’re taking a closer look at it today. We’ll also investigate the exclusive variant of the Jango Fett minifigure that has since surfaced.
First off: The images were kindly provided by Brix just4me and Patrick so I can better show you the differences between the figures. Many thanks again for that.
Let’s get started.
The Two Tin Boxes
For many, the tin boxes were probably the main reason to buy this issue, so let’s look at them first.
Jango Fett’s Helmet
The first variant is a larger tin box shaped like Jango Fett’s helmet.
You can open it, and it offers surprisingly generous space. Ideal for storing Minifigures, spare parts, or other small items.
Personally, I’ll probably just display mine as decoration.
There is one small downside, though. The tin is attached to the magazine with adhesive strips. When you remove them, adhesive residue unfortunately remains. I find that a bit annoying, and I still need to figure out how to remove it without leaving marks.
The Rectangular Tin Box
I personally like the second variant even a bit better.
Here we see Jango Fett against a beautiful red background with the Mythosaur symbol. Additionally, the sides feature more images of Jango Fett as well as details of his helmet.
The tin slides open vertically downward, which immediately makes it feel a bit more premium.
It’s also wonderfully practical. For example, for TCG cards, dice, or smaller LEGO parts. That’s why I like this variant overall even a bit better than the helmet version.
The Exclusive Jango Fett Minifigure
Now let’s get to what is probably the most interesting aspect of this issue.
Originally, the magazine was supposed to contain the same Jango Fett minifigure that is also included in the set Jango Fett’s Firespray-Class Starship.
The LEGO community and Patrick noticed that there is a difference between the variant from the set and the magazine. Later, comments repeatedly confirmed the same finding.
The small black detail print on the helmet is located on the rangefinder side on the regular figure.
On the magazine variant, however, this print is on the opposite side.
Otherwise, both figures are completely identical.
There is currently debate about whether this is a misprint or a distinct variant. However, the fact is: This version has so far only appeared in the tin box editions of the magazine.
The figure is now also listed separately on BrickLink.
Particularly interesting is the following observation:
According to feedback so far from comments on Instagram and YouTube, this variant does not appear to be included in every issue.
The current estimate is approximately 60 to 70 percent probability of receiving the variant. The remaining magazines apparently contain the regular version from the playset.
The variant has been confirmed so far in Germany and Austria, among others. No confirmed information is currently available for other European countries.
Particularly interesting is that these LEGO Star Wars magazines are published exclusively in Europe. In North America, Asia, and many other parts of the world, this variant is currently not available through regular retail. If this is indeed a distinct minifigure variant and not just a production error, it would only be available worldwide through the European magazine market. This makes the figure especially interesting for collectors and investors. I can easily imagine that this variant could increase in price over time on platforms like BrickLink. Of course, it remains to be seen how many copies are ultimately in circulation and whether LEGO or Blue Ocean will release an official statement.
If further information emerges in the future, I will update this article accordingly.
I personally bought both variants of the magazine and was actually lucky. Both issues contained the variant with the different helmet print.
Since I plan to get the new Firespray Starship anyway, I’m especially happy about this additional variant.
The Minifigure Itself
Regardless of the debate about the helmet print, the figure is simply excellently done.
In my opinion, this is one of the best Jango Fett Minifigures LEGO has released so far.
The silver armor elements are beautifully printed with a metallic finish, the print quality is excellent, and the jetpack is also very well executed.
Additionally, Jango Fett has two facial expressions:
- a more relaxed expression
- a more aggressive expression
Both fit the film perfectly.
For €7.99, you get a great minifigure plus a high-quality tin box. I find the overall package absolutely fair.

The Posters
As always, I’m skipping the comics and puzzles and focusing on the highlights.
This time there are two posters again.
The first is titled “Clone Troopers of the Republic”.
In the lower section, we see numerous Phase I clone troopers lined up in formation. Above them stretches space with several Republic Gunships.
The second poster shows the new UCS Jango Fett’s Firespray-Class Starship.
I really like both posters.
If you bought both tin box variants, you even have the posters twice and can theoretically hang both.
Preview of Issue 136
And now we come to probably the most exciting part of the magazine.
Issue 136 will be released on June 19.

The extra is a Galactic Marine.
This minifigure was previously only available in the Clone Turbo Tank and is one of the most popular clone troopers ever.
I strongly expect this issue to sell out very quickly. Many collectors will head out on release day and try to secure multiple copies.
For the price of probably €5.99 again, you likely won’t get this figure this cheaply again.
I’m definitely looking forward to the issue and will of course get it right at release.

Conclusion
For me, this is one of the strongest LEGO Star Wars Magazine issues ever.
The two tin boxes are well done, the Jango Fett minifigure is excellently executed, and the possible exclusive variant makes the issue significantly more interesting for collectors.
Now I’m interested:
Did you also find the variant with the different helmet print?
And what do you think of the upcoming Galactic Marine issue?
Feel free to write them in the comments.
