Three Construction Machines for My LEGO EOL Investment 2026
LEGO Technic was one of the lines I started out with myself. Still, I have to say: LEGO City is catching up more and more. The themed worlds are well thought out, the vehicles offer plenty of play value, and when it comes to large construction vehicles in particular, City holds its own against Technic.
For my personal LEGO EOL Investment in 2026, I have three sets on my list: the LEGO Technic 42175 Volvo FMX Truck with Electric Excavator, the LEGO Technic 42209 Volvo L120 Electric Wheel Loader, and the LEGO City 60466 Yellow Bulldozer.
LEGO Technic 42175 Volvo FMX Truck with Electric Excavator
2,274 pieces, released in 2024, MSRP of 199.99 euros, “Part-out” value of approximately 289 euros, and best price so far of 123.99 euros.
For me, the 42175 is the best set of the three. You get a large Volvo FMX truck, a flatbed trailer, and the EC230 electric excavator. The Volvo license, the size, and the combination of multiple vehicles make for a great overall set.
I wouldn’t buy this set at the MSRP. I think around 125 to 135 euros is a good starting price. The model is scheduled to be EOL in 2026 and is likely to be in high demand later on, especially among Technic and construction vehicle fans.

LEGO Technic 42209 Volvo L120 Electric Wheel Loader
973 pieces, released in 2025, MSRP 99.99 euros, Part-out value approx. 165 euros, and best price so far 59.99 euros.
The electric Volvo wheel loader is smaller, but it’s also very stylishly designed. With a price of around 60 euros, its resale value is significantly higher than the purchase price. For me, this is a great set for my Collection and a reasonable EOL Investment.

LEGO City 60466 Yellow Bulldozer
682 pieces, released in 2025, MSRP 59.99 euros, “part-out” value approx. 97 euros, three Minifigures, and best price so far 32.99 euros.
The bulldozer shows why LEGO City is becoming more and more interesting to me. The model offers plenty of play value and includes three Minifigures, two of which are exclusive to this set. These Minifigures, in particular, can become even more exciting once the set is discontinued.

My Conclusion
My favorite is definitely the 42175. The Volvo license, the size, and the combination of a truck, low-loader, and excavator make for the strongest overall package. The 42209 is the more affordable option, while the City Bulldozer stands out for its Minifigures, play value, and low entry price.
