Hi there!
Right now, the new LEGO Batman game, “The Legacy of the Dark Knight,” is the talk of the town and is receiving rave reviews from critics. Now, to coincide with the September 18 release for the Nintendo Switch 2, LEGO is releasing a special Deluxe Edition—and it’s quite something. That’s because this Deluxe Edition includes an exclusive Batman Minifigure.
And that’s exactly what we’re going to look at today.
Let’s get started.
What exactly is this about?
So far, the game has been released on all consoles except the Nintendo Switch 2. That will change on September 18, 2026.
A physical Deluxe Edition for the Nintendo Switch 2 will be released alongside the game. The Standard Edition costs €69.99, while the Deluxe Edition will be available for €89.99.
And it is precisely this Deluxe Edition that includes an exclusive polybag with set number 30762. Inside is the Retro Video Game Batman Minifigure.
It’s important to note that this figure will be available exclusively in the physical Deluxe Edition for the Nintendo Switch 2. It is not expected to be included with any other edition.
What else is included in the Deluxe Edition?
In addition to the game itself, the following content is included:
- LEGO Legacy Collection DLC
- 👉 Arkham Trilogy Pack
- 👉 Batman Beyond Pack
- 👉 Party Music Pack
- MAYHEM Collection DLC
- 👉 Joker and Harley Quinn as playable characters
- 👉 New Story Mission
- 👉 MAYHEM Fashion
- 👉 Sinister Pack
- 👉 Pre-order bonus: The Dark Knight Returns Batsuit
- 👉 Three Days of Early Access
So, especially for Batman fans, this is quite a package.
The Retro Video Game Batman Minifigure
What makes this figure special is its design.
Here, Batman isn’t wearing his classic black or dark gray outfit, but rather a striking purple-lilac retro color scheme. The LEGO minifigure captures this distinctive 8-bit look perfectly and brings it to life wonderfully.
The figure is based on Batman from the 1989 NES video game. Back then, a Batman game was released for the Nintendo Entertainment System console, and this Minifigure is modeled after that game’s design.
And that’s exactly what makes it, in my opinion, a truly successful tribute.
After all, the Nintendo Switch 2 can certainly be seen as a distant descendant of the NES. The fact that LEGO is releasing a figure based on a Batman game from the NES era for this particular version is a pretty cool throwback.
Exciting for collectors and investors
Of course, the figure will also be of interest to collectors and investors.
This is because this Deluxe Edition won’t be available with this bonus item indefinitely. Once the limited stock has sold out, it will likely be much harder to get your hands on this figure.
The big question, of course, is how prices will develop.
In the past, LEGO has frequently released exclusive video game Minifigures.
The best-known example is probably Farmboy Luke with blue milk from *LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga*. This polybag was highly sought-after at first, but its price dropped quite quickly. The reason for this was that, apparently, large quantities of the polybags had somehow ended up in circulation individually somewhere along the supply chain. As a result, the market was literally flooded with them at launch.
There have been similar cases with earlier LEGO video games as well. Take, for example, the polybag for *The Incredibles*. Its value has recovered somewhat in the meantime, but it’s still relatively inexpensive to buy.
No one can say at this point whether things will turn out the same way for Batman.
Personally, I can definitely see things turning out differently this time. The Batman collector community is huge and very active. That’s why I could definitely see pre-orders selling out faster than expected.
My Conclusion
I’m actually a little torn.
On the one hand, I think the figure’s design is absolutely fantastic, and I’m happy for anyone who gets the chance to add it to their Collection.
On the other hand, I think it’s a bit of a shame that LEGO is tying the figure exclusively to the Nintendo Switch 2 version. Collectors who would prefer to play the game on a different platform don’t even have the option of getting this version for a small additional fee.
Personally, I probably won’t buy the game just to own the character. Since I don’t have a compatible console, that’s out of the question for me right now.
However, if I ever came across this figure on its own or at a very reasonable price, I would definitely pick it up.
But purely as an Investment, I’m actually still considering whether I might pre-order a Deluxe Edition after all.
Now I’m curious:
What do you think of this promotion and the exclusive retro Batman Minifigure?
Are you going to get the Deluxe Edition, or are you going to skip it?
