Netflix recently released the first trailer for the upcoming LEGO One Piece special. At the same time, the first official details about the release were announced. Here’s everything we know so far.

It has been known for some time that this special is in production. It was also already roughly clear what it would be about. Now we finally have the first trailer and the official release date.
The LEGO One Piece Special will premiere on September 29, 2026, exclusively on Netflix, and will consist of two episodes.
What’s it about?
The story centers on Lysop (Usopp) and Tony Chopper.
Lysop tells Chopper about the Straw Hat Crew’s adventures so far, summarizing the events from Seasons 1 and 2 of the Netflix series. Of course, he does this in his own unique way: exaggerated, embellished, and with plenty of details he’s made up himself—just the way we know Lysop.
Added to this is the typical LEGO humor with numerous little jokes and references, which many are already familiar with from productions like *The LEGO Movie*, *The LEGO Batman Movie*, or *The LEGO NINJAGO Movie *.
How long will the special be?
An official duration has not yet been announced.
Past LEGO specials have varied widely in length. Some Star Wars specials lasted only a few minutes, others ran about 10 to 20 minutes, and a few even reached just under 40 minutes.
Therefore, we can currently assume that each of the two episodes could be about 10 to 15 minutes long, for a total runtime of around 25 to 30 minutes. However, this is only an estimate at this point and not an official confirmation.
The Animation Studio
The special is produced by Atomic Cartoons.
The studio has already been involved in several animated productions, and its style is clearly inspired by the well-known LEGO movie aesthetic. Fans of the major LEGO movies will therefore likely feel right at home.
Who is this special offer for?
The special is likely to appeal to several target audiences at once.
For one thing, it’s perfect for newcomers who want to relive the story of the Netflix series in a humorous way. For another, longtime One Piece fans get a funny recap of the plot so far in classic LEGO style.
LEGO fans will also get their money’s worth. Several familiar models can already be spotted in the trailer, and there might even be some early hints at future LEGO One Piece sets.
Plus, the special should help pass the time a bit while we wait for Season 3 of the Netflix series.
My Conclusion
Personally, I’m always excited about LEGO specials like this.
Precisely because the *One Piece* series has been so well-received by fans, I think this collaboration is a perfect fit. I already found the trailer very entertaining, and I still really like the familiar LEGO animation style.
Even though I’m not the biggest One Piece fan yet, I’ll definitely watch the special. Maybe it’ll get me even more excited about the franchise.
